Learning in academic settings can sometimes make you get tunnel vision and only think about grades. However, working with people so passionate about technology brought back my own love for computers and has paid exponential dividends when it comes to learning and career growth.

You’re not expected to know everything, but it’s important to show a strong willingness to learn and be easy to work with. Go above and beyond your prescribed intern project to help out wherever you can. I really enjoyed the experience, and being able to see the immediate impact of my work was very rewarding.

Working on a product that I engage with on a daily basis and that solves an interesting data problem was plenty of motivation to apply. Rokt gave me the space to really figure out some areas within software where I wanted to work, and it became my first full-time job after finishing school.

As a Canadian, I was trying to break into the tech scene within the United States. Rokt hires talented engineers that I wanted to learn from. I gained frontend and backend software engineering experience, developed  effective communication skills with a focus on clarity and conciseness, and learned how to ruthlessly prioritize tasks.
